This line of research aims to analyse the sociodemographic and work-related factors which impinge on the time fathers and mothers spend with their children.

The project also seeks to understand the nature of care given to children and the social and personal barriers, or those perceived as such by parents, with regard to parents’ involvement in their children’s lives.

In order to carry out this analysis, the Chair is analysing secondary data from surveys on Uses of Time, both on a national and an international scale.

Similarly, these results have been complemented by a representative number of detailed interviews conducted with fathers and mothers.
